The Plan to Reshape Behavioral Health Services
Central to this ambitious plan is the relocation of the Intensive Behavior Center currently situated in Boulder. The state is evaluating potential moves to Helena or Butte, with costs projected at approximately $13.3 million. This initiative highlights the state’s commitment to better allocate mental health resources, providing individuals with improved support and infrastructure.
Enhancing Facilities for a Healthier Future
The proposed budget outlined by Governor Gianforte also includes investments to bolster renovations at the Montana State Hospital. An additional facility, or “step-down” unit, is anticipated to open in Helena, catering to adults stepping down from intensive psychiatric care.
